The City of Litchfield Park is seeking an individual to assist with the administrative duties and office responsibilities for the City's Magistrate Court. Position is part-time, 19 hours per week. Hours may vary, but must be able to work all day Wednesday.
Incumbents are responsible for performing entry level judicial and legal support, clerical, financial, cash handling, and customer service functions in the court.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledges, skills, and other characteristics. Dependable and prompt attendance.
Assists the public in person and on the telephone, resolving various levels of customer service needs.
Prepares and processes cases such as misdemeanor, civil traffic, parking violations, and other civil matters in compliance with legal requirements and procedures.
Enters, edits, and retrieves data utilizing court-specific computer software.
Performs file management functions including alphabetical and numerical case filing, creating new case files, tracking case files, matching documents to case files, and researching record requests.
Collects, posts, and balances fines, fees, and bonds. Reconciles daily cash transactions using court-specific computer software and Microsoft Excel.
Sorts, separates, arranges, and files court or legal documents as prescribed by the Court records filing system.
Writes reports and correspondence.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City staff and the public; and
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require)
Arizona Driver's License; and
4 hours of COJET training
